InsideOUT Voices

Thanks to this paper and pen, I feel better now.

See, in this room, you can talk to the walls but it won’t make a difference.

But if I write what I feel, you’ll know me a little better and see who I really am. more

InsideOUT Voices

Dear IOW,

My name is Elias and I’m writing to thank you for letting me be a part of InsideOUT Writers.  Every day I write in my journal, it keeps my mind calm and collected.  My essay writing is improving and I thank you all very much.  When I’m released I will join the Alumni Program so I can lead myself in the right direction for the future.

With Closed Eyes

A raging war within a family is my sight with closed eyes

Only when you close your eyes can you see through the lies

And all the people in the street are just the soldiers in disguise

But all the young and all the innocent are paying the price

Because the loud sounds of the war are silencing all their cries

Forcing the youth into a draft, making them fight for their lives

As a brother fights a brother their humanity dies

I see an endless war for nothing when I close my eyes
