With great excitement, IOW recently launched a monthly series of life skills enrichment sessions for Alumni. The program targets the needs of young people as they transition from incarceration back into our communities. The sessions build Alumni’s abilities to effectively and positively address life’s daily challenges and stressors that in the past may have led them to make unhealthy choices. Staff designed an activity-based, interactive curriculum to develop and strengthen the Alumni’s critical thinking, work ethic, social, communication and leadership skills.

The sessions are led by community partners from the business, government, education, health care and arts sectors. Teachers include representatives from the Saban Free Clinic; the Center Theatre Group; Women of Substance & Men of Honor, Inc.; YouthBuild; the Painted Brain and Dress for Success, just to name a few.
